FOR betraying the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson must resign from the party, his Rivers State counterpart Nyesom Wike demanded on Tuesday.
Wike rejected an offer by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leadership to intervene in the dispute between him and Dickson.
Both governors have been in the news over who owns the Soku oil wells.
The Federal High Court returned the oil fields to Rivers, but Dickson insisted that Bayelsa’s historical ownership of the wells remain valid.
According to Wike, there is no basis for PDP to intervene since the Federal High Court had determined the issue.
His Special Assistant on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu, quoted Wike as saying in a statement: “I don’t know why they are interceding. They have no power to resolve the issue of oil wells.
“Secondly, the matter has been determined by a court of competent jurisdiction.
