SAN slams NBA over alleged docility, continuous silence on hate speech bill



A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Oladipo Olasope, on Friday blamed the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) over alleged docility and unnecessary silence on the anti-hate speech bill.

DAILY POST recalls that the anti hate speech bill which has passed second reading in the National Assembly, was recently re-introduced by Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi.

But Olasope, while speaking to journalists on the sidelines of special roundtable discourse themed, “Criminalising Hate Speech: The Good, the Bad, the Ugly”, organised by the Christian Lawyers Fellowship of Nigeria (CLASFON), Ibadan Chapter, added that the national body of NBA should have set up a committee to review the bill.
