The Police Command in Adamawa State has arrested a total of 319 people suspected to have been robbing, kidnapping, being involved in homicidal acts or raping people around the state in the last five months.
In the arrests made between July and now, 115 are robbery suspects, including the infamous Shilla Boys, as well as 106 suspected kidnappers, 37 rape suspects, and 61 people suspected to have been involved in homicidal acts.
The state Commissioner of Police, Audu Madaki, gave the figures in Yola Tuesday while parading some of the suspects.
The arrest of over a hundred suspected kidnappers is considered a major development in a state where kidnapping has recently been rife, with a DPO abducted last Tuesday and released only on Saturday night.
