The National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has denied reports that he was placed under house arrest in Edo
Mr Oshiomhole debunked the reports while briefing journalists at his residence shortly after receiving Osagie Ize-Iyamu, who defected to APC.
Mr Ize-Iyamu was the governorship candidate of the PDP in the 2016 governorship election in Edo. He lost to the incumbent governor, Godwin Obaseki of the APC.
Mr Obaseki, a former ally of Mr Oshiomhole, has since fallen out with the party chairman with both men leading separate factions of the APC. There have been reports Mr Oshiomhole plans to support Mr Ize-Iyamu against Mr Obaseki for the APC ticket in next year’s governorship election.
