New chiefs get turbans – The Nation Newspaper

THE Council of Chief Imams in Ifako Ijaiye in Lagos State has given new chiefs turbans. Alhaji Abdul-Toleeb Oyedeji and Alhaja Fatimah Owolabi were installed as Baba Adinni and Iya Adini.

Chairman of the council and chief host Ismaeel Ali Olayemi noted that the duo was honoured for encouraging the progress of Islam.

Acting Chairman of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government, Prince Usman Hamzat, praised the religious harmony between Muslim and Christian communities. Usman said Ifako-Ijaiye parades religious stakeholders who bond for the good of the community.

Oyedeji, a devout Muslim, noted that their target was to ensure the realisation of the proposed Islamic Centre, to help the progression of Islam.

“I and Alhaja Owolabi are going to use our connections and whatever we have as Jihad (striving) for goodness to the glory of Allah in service humanity.
