The immediate past Chairman of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), Muiz Banire, suggested on Thursday that he was not bothered by his removal from office.
PREMIUM TIMES reported how Mr Banire, appointed in 2018, was removed from office on Tuesday.
President Muhammadu Buhari sent the name of Edward Adamu, a deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, to the Senate as the new AMCON chairman.
Mr Banire, who said he was in London when he received notification of his removal, said he saw the position as one of service and not for personal enrichment.
The Lagos politician’s reaction was posted by his associate and former senator, Babafemi Ojudu, on the latter’s Facebook page.
