The police in Lagos have arrested 22-year-old Amusa Hammed for allegedly raping a teenager and illegally aborting the resulting pregnancy.
Hammed was arrested on Friday at 7, Dassy Castro, off Odunsi Street, Bariga after a complaint was filed at the local police station, a police statement said on Sunday.
It was gathered that the suspect had sought the services of a nurse to terminate the teenager’s pregnancy when he found she was pregnant.
Police said the pregnancy was discovered at the Mirabel Centre where the teenager was taken for checkup.

“Medical report showed that she was pregnant and had an abortion. The suspect was arrested by detectives from the Family Support Unit (FSU) and he confessed to the commission of the crime.
