The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, on Tuesday, said the process of community policing would be completed by August 2020, to enable the exercise take off.
He stated this after a a closed-door session with the Senate Committee on Police Affairs and the Senate President, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan in Abuja.
According to him, the implementation committee has been inaugurated and having briefed the lawmakers on how far the Police have gone in trying to tackle insecurity in the country, he expressed optimism that as lawmakers continue to support them and thus, activities of criminals would be brought to the barest minimum.
