The incident happened in the 35th minute as Norwich lead 1-0. The visitor’s player kicked the ball out of play as their player Emiliano Buendia needed treatment.
On resumption, the ball was thrown to Iheanacho who instead of giving the ball back to a Norwich City player , ran towards the opponentss goal before he was brought down close to the edge of the box, resulting in a free-kick.
Iheanacho’s action did not go down well with the Norwich players as they surrounded him.
Then in the 39th minute Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers replaced the Nigeria international with Demarai Gray.
Prior to Iheanacho’s substitution, Leicester equalised after Jamie Vardy’s header took a deflection off Tim Krul in goal for Norwich.
Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi featured full time for Leicester City and as usual, asserted himself well in the match.
The draw ended Leicester’s eight-match winning run and saw them remain second but now 10 points behind leaders Liverpool, who defeated Watford earlier on Saturday.
And at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea suffered back-to-back defeat in the league as they were stunned 1-0 by struggling Bournemouth.
The Blues had lost their last league game following a 3-1 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park.
Dan Gosling got the only goal of the game on 85 minutes as he lifted the ball over Kepa Arrizabalaga to give the Cherries a late lead.
The goal was initially flagged off for offside, but after consulting the VAR, referee Graham Scott awarded the goal to Bournemouth.
Bournemouth had gone into the game against Chelsea without a win in their last five consecutive games.
Chelsea remain fourth on 29 points in the league table.
In other results, Burnley beat visiting Newcastle 1-0 and Aston Villa lost 2-0 away to Sheffield United.
