The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has warned drivers against over-speeding, dangerous driving and other traffic offences capable of causing road crashes during the festive period.
Speaking at the 2019 Ember Months Campaign Flag off in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State at the weekend, the state Sector Commander, Ikechukwu Igwe, said the corps would enforce strict adherence to traffic regulations during the period.
Igwe, at the inauguration, which attracted traditional rulers, zonal officers of FRSC, students and drivers, said the target was to ensure a zero road crash at the festive period.
He said accidents rate had reduced in Bayelsa following sustained public enlightenment campaigns initiated by the corps in the state.
Igwe further warned officers of the command against extorting motorists saying anybody found culpable would face the risk of dismissal.
