Coalition demands release of Agba Jalingo, El-Zakzaky, others

Following the release of activist, Omoyele Sowore, and ex-National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, from illegal detention of the State Security Service, a coalition of 12 civil society groups have asked the federal and state governments to release other illegally detained persons across the country.

The coalition, Freedom Rally Group, made this demand in a statement jointly signed statement sent to PREMIUM TIMES on Friday, threatening to hit the street if its demands are not met.

It called for the release of Agba Jalingo, who is facing charges of terrorism for a story he authored alleging the Cross River State government of misappropriating public funds.

It made the same call for the estranged leader of the banned Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), Ibrahim El Zakzaky, and others…
