Super Eagles goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has reacted after he named Absa Premiership player of the month for September-October 2019. The 33-year-old Nigeria international has been in fantastic form for Kaizer Chiefs this season and has established himself as the Amakhosi’s first choice goalie following the injury to South Africa goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune.Akpeyi keeper kept his fifth clean sheet in his 9th league outing of the season as he returned to action after a one-game suspension, as Chiefs defeated Stellenbosch 4-0 on Wednesday evening to cement their place at the top of the Absa Premiership log with a seventh straight league wins.Super Eagles who was surprised to win the individual award thanked the Kaizer Chiefs’ technical team for their support as told the club official website: “I am really delighted. After going through what I have and becoming player of the month is encouraging.
