AIB submits report on crash that killed Nigeria’s army chief Attahiru

The Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) has submitted an interim report on the Air Force aircraft, King Air 350, that crashed killing then chief of army staff, Ibrahim Attahiru, and 10 others.

Details of the report have yet to be made public.

Presenting the report to the Chief of Air Staff, Isyaka Amao, on Wednesday, the Chief Executive Officer of AIB, Akin Olateru, said the report contained 27 findings and eight recommendations for immediate implementation.

PREMIUM TIMES had reported how an air force aircraft conveying Mr Attahiru and other senior officers of the army crashed around Kaduna airport. About five of the occupants were army generals.

Although the statement, jointly signed by Edward Gabkwet, the air force spokesperson, and his AIB counterpart, Tunji Oketunbi, did not contain the details of the recommendations, the statement said the report is organised into three sections.
