Abia State Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has placed a banned erection of shops, tents or any other structure for the purpose of trading around the Ariaria International Market in Aba, the commercial nerve centre of the state.
This followed the successful dislodging of all street traders around the area by the Ministry of Trade and Investment in a bid to restore sanity and order in Aba metropolis.
The Governor, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Onyebuchi Ememanka and made available to newsmen in Umuahia on Monday ordered that no form of street trading be conducted around that area under whatsoever guise.
Ikpeazu also directed security agencies to arrest and prosecute any person who attempts to flout his orders.
